Yucky Science

What happens when an owl swallows a mouse? What does he do with the bones? Well, the students at LVLC discovered (to the intense disgust of some) that the bones are regurgitated along with fur in an owl pellet.

One brave student dissected the pellet while others watched with varying emotions. We were excited to find not one, but two rodent skulls! The skulls and bones helped the students better understand the identifying features of rodents as part of our current science topic.
