Student Teacher

This semester our oldest student's math curriculum will end before the other students'. To slow her down a bit she has a new task on her list: teaching! We've studied African geography this semester. This student is teaching a few lessons on making African-inspired crafts. Pictured here the kids prepare to make shakers, inspired by gourd shakers from West Africa.

She's doing a great job thinking through learning goals, planning questions to ask the other students, and executing lessons with clarity and patience. It's fun that we can give kids this teaching experience, even in such a small setting.
