One Room Schoolhouse (kind of!)

This semester we have some travelers in our LVLC community, leaving us with six students and one teacher! So we're mostly camped out in one room. The kids each have a desk and a list of tasks each day. They work through their independent lessons/books. Then they are called up individually or in age-level groups for math, writing, and some other things that need teacher instruction. In the afternoons they all listen to a read aloud book together and study geography. This semester's focus is Africa! It's not REALLY a one room schoolhouse, because one mother is schooling her child in Dutch in the next room. And twice a week another mother comes in to help with a few things like spelling tests, in the third room. And on Fridays two moms teach drama and dancing to scripture, respectively, on the veranda. It's a happy, busy little learning center overall.
